Terms of use
The agreement between you and Colorado ESA Letter. Fifteen short sections, written so you can actually get through them.
Current as of September 2, 2026. Using this site or booking a consultation means you accept the terms below. Each heading is the term itself, so you can skim and still know what you agreed to.
We connect you to a clinician; the clinician decides
Colorado ESA Letter operates a website and a scheduling service linking Colorado residents with independently licensed Colorado clinicians for telehealth evaluations about emotional support animals and psychiatric service dogs. The clinical judgement belongs to that clinician. We neither direct it nor overturn it.
You must be 18 and a Colorado resident to book for yourself
A parent or legal guardian may arrange and attend a consultation for a minor. You agree that what you tell us is truthful and complete; a letter obtained on false information is void.
A genuine evaluation happens, because Colorado requires one
Colorado's Mental Health Practice Act requires a bona fide provider-patient relationship before a licensed professional issues an emotional support animal recommendation. You accept that the consultation is a condition of the service rather than an optional step, and that a clinician may decline where the standard is not met.
Booking is consent to telehealth
You consent to being seen by video or telephone, accept that telehealth has limits, that a clinician may conclude an in-person assessment is needed, and that connections sometimes fail. You may withdraw consent at any time.
You are charged once, and only on approval
Prices are on the pricing page. Your card is authorised at booking and captured only when a clinician signs. No subscription, no auto-renewal. The refund policy forms part of these terms.
A decline is not a service failure
Clinicians are not compensated differently by outcome and may decline for any clinically sound reason. A decline is the process working correctly and is not grounds for dispute.
What we do not provide
Legal advice; we are not a law firm. Emergency or crisis care; call or text 988, or 911 if someone is in danger. Ongoing therapy, psychiatric treatment or medication management. Registrations, certificates, ID cards or vests, none of which carry legal effect. Any guarantee of approval, or of any outcome with a landlord, HOA, airline, employer or university.
Things you agree not to do
Misstate your identity or condition. Alter or resell a letter we issue. Present an emotional support animal as a service animal in a place of public accommodation, which is unlawful in Colorado. Scrape or republish this site commercially. Interfere with its operation. Use the service unlawfully. Breach may end your access.
The site's content belongs to us; your letter belongs to you
Text, design, logo and structure are protected by copyright and trademark law. Your letter is yours to use for its intended purpose. Anything else needs written permission.
Third parties run parts of this
Scheduling, video, live chat and payment come from external providers under their own terms. We select carefully and bind those handling health information by business associate agreements, but we are not answerable for their independent acts.
The service is provided as is
To the fullest extent Colorado law permits we disclaim implied warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Our liability is capped at what you paid
To the fullest extent the law allows, total liability arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid for the service in question, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages, including a landlord's or HOA's refusal. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
You cover claims arising from your own misuse
You agree to indemnify Colorado ESA Letter against claims arising from your misuse of the service, your breach of these terms, or your misrepresentation of an animal's status.
Colorado law governs, Denver courts hear disputes
Colorado law applies without regard to conflict of law principles. Raise problems with us first; most settle by email. Where they cannot, the state and federal courts sitting in the City and County of Denver have exclusive jurisdiction.
If one clause fails, the rest stands
An unenforceable provision is severed and the remainder continues. Not enforcing a term once is not a waiver of it.
These terms can change
The date at the top reflects the current version and material changes are announced here. Continuing to use the service means accepting them. Questions go to support@coloradoesaletter.org.
